Thats why we recommend ARENA, a winter-active Perennial Ryegrass. It was bred from a New Zealand research and breeding program dedicated to developing new varieties of cool season turfgrasses that originate from Mediterranean climates — the climate condition of most of California. This means ARENA is naturally adapted to Californias own climate cycles. Since most other Perennial Ryegrasses are bred to perform in Pennsylvania and Oregon, which are distinctly different from California in terms of weather conditions, ARENA offers several advantages.
